Narwhal, the unicorn of the sea
The narwhal is a rare type of sea creature that lives in Arctic waters. The animals have two teeth. In males, one of these teeth grows through the upper lip. Females also grow these tusks sometimes, but they are not as prominent as in the male.
The narwhal is hunted by polar bears and orcas mainly as well as by the Inuit people who hunt the whale legally. The whale’s population is, however, threatened by pollution and the animal is ultra sensitive to the effects of global warming.
